You may be wondering why I decided to produce a page
about Turvey - especially as I live in Northamptonshire!
I have Turvey ancestry on both my mother's and father's lines and was myself baptised in the Parish church. I have numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who still live in Turvey . It is only 10 or so miles from my home and I visit there a lot. When I was little I was bridesmaid at my second-cousin's wedding in the church - I looked very sweet in a Seventies, bright, shiny, pink dress - I described the colour as 'awful pink'!
As an adult I was thrilled to be a 'maid of honour' when my sister got married in the parish church - I got to wear classy cream this time!!!
My father is a well known local historian who shares my love of Turvey - he was born in the old Tinkers Inn (now the village stores) and grew up in the village. He has a wonderful collection of picture postcards and ephemera of the village.
Oh yes - and I love Turvey - it is a delightful and fascinating village - I do hope this site has given you a little taste of this.
